When booking there had been a date range given for the scan and the earliest booking eventually possible, after the call from the doctor, was at the very end of the date range. The cost was quite low compared to the areas surrounding London but I guess you get what you pay for to some extent. The discussion time with the doctor was very short, just a few minutes before and a few minutes after the scan. I didn't feel that the doctor analysing the scan had been told the reasons for the scan in advance of the analysis. Ideally there should be a detailed report sent to my email but that didn't happen. The report back from the scan was on the Saturday following having the scan on the Monday. The booking had been made on the previous Tuesday. The staff didn't seem aware that I had paid privately instead of going through the NHS. The scanner was in a portable unit (container style trailer) and had more vibration during the measurements than for my hospital heart scan. This must be worse for the clarity of the scan results. Improved balancing, additional weights and crane style out-rigger supports could potentially help. The lift music played in the waiting area was very depressing and too loud to hear me being called clearly, especially with a mix of foreign and Birmingham accent that I'm not used to!
