Frequently asked questions

Still have questions? You’ll find more answers here.

What’s the difference between a screening scan and a diagnostic scan?

A screening scan is a proactive scan performed on patients without symptoms and is used to provide peace of mind or detect health problems early. A diagnostic scan is performed on patients with symptoms to identify the cause of troubling symptoms and diagnose medical conditions.

Who should consider booking a screening scan?

Screening scans are ideal for patients who have no symptoms but prefer to be proactive about their health through regular check-ups. Screening scans can detect diseases and conditions early, so you can act sooner.

I don’t have any symptoms. Can I book a screening scan?

Yes, screening scans such as mammograms, echocardiograms and full body MRIs are ideal for patients with no symptoms who wish to get checked for peace of mind or to catch health problems early.

What happens after my appointment?

If your scan shows no abnormalities, you can carry on with your day-to-day life with peace of mind and book again within the recommended timeframe. If they show something abnormal that needs treatment or further testing, you can take your results to your NHS GP, or you can decide to continue your care privately with us. If you’re unsure or you’d like further clarity, book a post-scan consultation with one of our clinical experts to discuss your results and your options.
